Connected Credit Union is seeking a motivated, energetic individual for a full-time Collection Assistant and Loan Clerk with the ability to work at either our Augusta or Winslow branches. The selected candidate will be instrumental in preserving credit union assets by controlling delinquent accounts, collecting delinquent loan payments, counseling with members, and/or recovering collateral. Additionally, this individual will assist our loan department as necessary to review complete loan files ensuring loan officers have included all required documents; to track titles and UCC filings; to discharge or release liens and titles associated with paid loans. The successful candidate will be provided with training and must quickly learn and maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union collection and lending compliance, as well as bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws.

Requirements:

Job Requirements and Desired Experience

• Must have achieved a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Has one to three years of similar or related experience.
• Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level debt resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Communications involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring courtesy, diplomacy, and tact whether in verbal or written form.
• Maintains confidentiality related to Credit Union operations and work-related information, including data and operating systems, policies, and procedures.

• Communicates effectively in both verbal and written forms. Possesses computer skills to include keyboarding, use of Microsoft office suite (word, excel spreadsheets) ten key calculator, general office equipment, and member data system.

• Professional appearance is necessary.
• Occasional moderate lifting ability may be required of the candidate (up to twenty-five pounds).
• Interacts with co-workers in a manner that fosters teamwork.
• Commits to attaining goals and objectives of the position as well as those of the credit union.

The successful candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background check.
