HSA Accounts
A Health Savings Account (HSA) is a special tax-advantaged account that is an easy way to save for healthcare expenses. This type of account is specifically designed to be paired with a high-deductible health plan (HDHP). An HSA account allows you and your family to pay for various qualified medical expenses tax-free, such as doctor visits, prescriptions, and even some over-the-counter medications.
Unlike Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), HSA funds roll over from year to year and remain with you regardless of employment changes. It's important to note that all contributions to your HSA, whether made by you or your employer, count toward the annual maximum of allowed contributions.
